Apart from the invasive procedures for further investigation of the baby, some procedures are done antenatally to treat the baby. Some of the procedures include drawing fluid from the fetal chest (thoracocentesis) in a case of hydrothorax (fluid in the chest) and intra-uterine transfusion (IUFT) to treat fetal anemia due to Rhesus isoimmunisation.
